THEIR STORY:

Diane Kaemmer is a registered dietitian, and believes a balanced diet is vital for good health and wellbeing. Adequate nutrition provides us with the energy, protein, essential fats, vitamins and minerals to live, grow and function properly. So why should it be any different for our 4 legged best friends and family members?  Proper nutrition for them is also a critical component in their wellness and happiness. And that’s why she researched, tested and created these specialized, hand crafted, all natural, treats made with recycled grains from the beer brewing process of local Connecticut breweries along with pure, healthy and wholesome ingredients.

Although dogs love the flavor of beer, there is no actual beer in our treats. They contain the grains that are brewed in the beer making process, so they contain the great flavor but no alcohol or hops that may be harmful for dogs. So super tasty and completely safe. So, no inebriation, but certainly will make them “hoppy”!

We obtain the grains locally, courtesy of Steady Habit Brewing Company in Haddam, CT and Fox Farm Brewery in Salem, CT. If you live in Connecticut, or are simply visiting, load up your hound and pay them a visit. They both create delicious brew and are dog friendly as well.

To avoid using preservatives, we slow bake and then dehydrate them for 4 hours. This provides them with a long shelf life, but also makes them super crunchy for healthy teeth.  However, while most love the crunch, hounds with dental issues, seniors or young pups, may benefit from softening the treats with a little warm water just before serving.

While they won’t last in your house long enough to spoil, if you would like to save some for a special occasion, be sure to store them in a safe, dry place and they will last 6 to 9 months, or longer.

We hear this quite a bit. If you call or email us, we can offer a smaller, sample bag of any flavor you choose for only $5, plus shipping. Our goal is to provide your dog with a healthy, droolicious treat that they will love. So give it a shot…you may be surprised!

Barley is easily digestible and nutritious as well. We also use whole wheat flour. Unless your dog is specifically allergic to barley or wheat, they should be fine. Remember, it’s a treat, and not a meal. Everything in moderation! Consult your veterinarian concerning any food allergies.

Obviously, they are superior! And all our four-legged taste testers totally agree! See our reviews for details. They are handmade/homemade in East Haddam, CT. We use locally sourced beer grains, all natural, human grade, high quality ingredients with no preservatives, chemicals or additives…ever!
