Warm up with a bowl of hearty Beef and Bean Chili, loaded with bold spices and tender beef for the perfect comfort meal.
Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
- 1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 can (15 oz) black beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 cup beef broth
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Sour cream, for serving
- Shredded cheddar cheese, for serving
Instructions:
- In a large pot, brown the ground beef over medium heat for 6-8 minutes. Drain excess fat.
- Add onion and garlic, sautéing for 3-4 minutes until softened.
- Stir in chili powder, cumin, diced tomatoes, kidney beans, black beans, and beef broth. Bring to a boil.
- Reduce the heat and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Serve hot, garnished with sour cream and shredded cheddar cheese.
Suggested Pairing:
Serve with cornbread or tortilla chips. A cold beer, like a lager, pairs well with the spicy flavors.
