Ingredients:
- 4 oz (113g) of semi-sweet chocolate
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) of unsalted butter
- 1 cup of powdered sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 egg yolks
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 6 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
- Pinch of salt
- Optional: Whipped cream and fresh berries for garnish
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease and lightly flour four ramekins or small oven-safe dishes.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate and butter together in 30-second intervals until smooth. Stir in the powdered sugar until well combined.
- Add the eggs, egg yolks, and vanilla extract to the chocolate mixture, and whisk until well combined.
- Sift in the flour and a pinch of salt, then gently fold the dry ingredients into the chocolate mixture until just combined.
- Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins.
- Bake for about 12-14 minutes, or until the edges are set but the center is still soft.
- Carefully run a knife around the edge of each ramekin to loosen the cake. Invert each cake onto a plate, and serve immediately with whipped cream and berries if desired.
