Savor the sweet and savory flavors of Korea with Bulgogi. This beloved dish features thinly sliced beef marinated in a blend of soy sauce, garlic, sesame oil, and sugar, then grilled or pan-fried to perfection. It’s tender, juicy, and bursting with umami—perfect served over rice or wrapped in lettuce leaves.
Ingredients:
- 1 lb ribeye or sirloin, thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp rice wine (optional)
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 onion, thinly sliced
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 1 tsp sesame seeds
- Black pepper to taste
Instructions:
- In a bowl, combine soy sauce, sugar, sesame oil, garlic, rice wine, and pepper.
- Add beef, onion, and green onions. Mix well and marinate for at least 30 minutes (or overnight).
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add marinated beef and cook until browned and caramelized, about 5–7 minutes.
- Garnish with sesame seeds.


Suggested Pairing:
Serve Bulgogi with steamed white rice, kimchi, and a side of Korean potato salad. Refresh with barley tea or a light lager.
