Celebrate the bounty of the sea with Haemul Pajeon. This crispy Korean pancake is packed with scallions and seafood like squid and shrimp—perfect for sharing on a breezy June evening.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup chopped squid or shrimp
  • 4–5 scallions, cut into long strips
  • 1/4 small onion, sliced
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Dipping Sauce:

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp vinegar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • Pinch of gochugaru

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, mix flour, water, and egg until smooth.
  2. Add seafood, onion, and mix gently.
  3. Heat oil in a skillet. Pour batter and top with scallions. Cook until golden brown on both sides.
  4. Slice into pieces and serve with dipping sauce.
