Grilled eel glazed in a sweet and savory sauce is a Korean delicacy often enjoyed in the warmer months for its energizing benefits. Jangeo Gui is rich, smoky, and perfect for an outdoor dinner.

Ingredients:

  • 1 fresh or pre-grilled eel fillet
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp mirin
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 tsp grated ginger
     

Instructions:

  1. Mix soy sauce, mirin, sugar, garlic, ginger, and sesame oil in a saucepan. Simmer until slightly thick.
  2. Brush sauce over eel fillet. Grill for 5 minutes on each side, basting frequently.
  3. Slice and serve over rice or lettuce wraps.
