Japchae is a colorful and satisfying dish made with sweet potato noodles, sautéed vegetables, and beef. It’s slightly sweet, savory, and chewy—a celebration of texture and flavor.

Ingredients:

  • 6 oz Korean sweet potato noodles (dangmyeon)
  • 4 oz beef, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 onion, sliced
  • 1 small carrot, julienned
  • 1/2 bell pepper, sliced
  • 1/2 cup spinach
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds
  • Vegetable oil for cooking

Instructions:

  1. Cook noodles according to the package, rinse in cold water, and drain.
  2. Stir-fry vegetables and beef separately with a little oil.
  3. In a large bowl, mix noodles with soy sauce, sugar, garlic, and sesame oil.
  4. Add all cooked ingredients and toss well.
  5. Garnish with sesame seeds.
