Ingredients:

  • 4 oz (113g) of semi-sweet chocolate
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) of unsalted butter
  • 1 cup of powdered sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 6 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
  • Pinch of salt
  • Optional: Whipped cream and fresh berries for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease and lightly flour four ramekins or small oven-safe dishes.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate and butter together in 30-second intervals until smooth. Stir in the powdered sugar until well combined.
  3. Add the eggs, egg yolks, and vanilla extract to the chocolate mixture, and whisk until well combined.
  4. Sift in the flour and a pinch of salt, then gently fold the dry ingredients into the chocolate mixture until just combined.
  5. Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins.
  6. Bake for about 12-14 minutes, or until the edges are set but the center is still soft.
  7. Carefully run a knife around the edge of each ramekin to loosen the cake. Invert each cake onto a plate, and serve immediately with whipped cream and berries if desired.
